(More customer reviews)I looked at dozens of bike stands before i bought this one, and, boy, was this ever the right decision.It is a brilliant piece of engineering.
The only thing that it touches on your bike is the tire, and after using it daily for three weeks, it seems impossible for me to accidentally mount it to the stand and touch the spokes, no matter how clumsy or unfocused i might be after a ride (in other words, often).It it really well built (steel, i think, but it could be a heavy alloy), and has enough weight on the ground, and with those added stabilizing (yet remarkably small) side bars, that the bike never tips over even when i tried to do it deliberately with some force on it.I have also used it to work on the bike, and, again, absolutely stable and a real pleasure compared to everything else i have used to work on the bike.
It has one of the smallest footprints of any of the bike stands i looked at, which is important, since i am temporarily in a small 2nd floor condo and wanted something that was really minimalist.In fact, in the room, the stand seems to disappear into the background, proudly making the bike the center of attention. It is so ridiculously well engineered that you'd think Porsche made it, but the price is a bargain for this quality.One of the best purchases i have made on Amazon, and i am planning on buying more of these for the other bikes.
